This was a fine day. I baked some. dad went to town with Schefelbine. Zell came down with the mail man. Marshal & Crider Called & got the iron kettle.

Interesting story about Eugene V. Debs on front page. He was serving a ten-year sentence for voicing his opposition to the draft. Debs was the leader of the I.W.W. (Wobblies) and was a five-time Socialist Party of America candidate for U.S. president.
